FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Women Model for Domestic Violence and Sex Trafficking Awareness.
Randallstown, Maryland – May 16, 2014 – Taiwo I. Ajao, MPH or “tia” of the Together Inspiration Acts Mommie Models Project, and Roxanne Fulton of Iconic Dreams Entertainment are partnering together to bring to our area an engaging advocacy and awareness event creatively delivered through make up and media. As you can imagine, there are many issues to address, most pertinent being Domestic Violence, and many more issues including Human Trafficking of our children, #BringBackOurGirls and the situation of hundreds of Mother's in Nigeria who currently exist in fear and turmoil due to the terrible status of their precious children.
According to data obtained by The Violence Policy Center, nine women each week are shot to death by their husband or intimate partner. Women ages twenty to twenty-four are at greatest risk of becoming victims of domestic violence. According to the organization Equality Now, at least 20.9 million adults and children are bought and sold worldwide into commercial sexual servitude and about 2 million children are exploited each year in the global commercial sex trade.  These are some of the statistics that are the driving force behind this event.
Model Advocates of all shapes, sizes and nationalities will be made over by The Mommie Models Glamm Team and Modeling Coaching will be provided by experienced Model and Actress GinRenee Boyer.  These models will engage in the experience and speak out for women who cannot speak for themselves. Roxanne Fulton, President of Iconic Dreams Entertainment will speak regarding domestic violence and how it directly affected her. This event will also be a part of her domestic violence documentary entitled “Hidden Darkness”.
There will also be key themes and support from area Nigerian businesses, creating a forum to discuss the massive kidnapping and capture of hundreds of young girls and the disdain of hundreds of Nigerian Mothers that has followed.
This advocacy and media event will take place Friday, May 16th from 12:30pm-4:30pm at Randallstown Community Center, 3505 Resource Drive. Randallstown, Maryland 21133.
